Cards that reveal more than a plain Christmas message

IT’S always interesting to see what arrives in the office postbag each Christmas.

Unlike the affluent business desk, where festive freebies abound, the Daily Post’s impecunious farming editor must content himself with CCW calendars and FUW diaries, neither of which can be passed off to relatives as makeweight Christmas presents.

Brazilian beef bites back

IF anyone needs a friend right now, it’s those nasty Brazilian ranchers who ship beef in vast quantities to Europe.

For years Europe’s farmers have argued that lower production standards enjoyed by their South American counterparts gives them an unfair advantage in the marketplace.

Now it looks as the EC is finally running out of patience.
